Phillip Cangey's Obituary
Phillip Gene Cangey left us to be at peace on August 9,2023. He was 68 years old.
Our father Phil was the strongest man that you could have known. There was nothing that he could not do. He suffered a major stroke 20 years ago and that never stopped him from living the best life that he could. He had many challenges but always seemed to be able to overcome them. Unfortunately, he recently suffered two more minor stokes and he just did not bounce back like he did 20 years ago. His will to fight was just as strong as it use to be as he recently lost his beautiful and loving wife Nancy in February.
He is survived by his father, Norman Cangey (June); his mother-in-law, Audrey Washington; his children, Jennifer (Lee) Ference and Curt (Lindsay) Cangey; and his grandchildren, Dominic and Colton Ference.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Cangey; mother, Betty Cangey; and sister, Raetta Reese.
Some say that true love does not exist, but for our parents it did. They had a special bond that could not be broken. They are together now and will be forever.
Family and Friends may gather on Thursday, August 31, 2023, from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070. A Graveside Service will begin at 12:00PM on Friday, September 1, 2023. His final resting place will be beside his wife at Sunset Cemetery in North Olmsted, Ohio.
