Phillip D. Totten's Obituary
Phillip D. Totten of Wooster, Ohio passed away July 13, 2024. Beloved husband of Sharon (nee Benkosky) Totten. Loving father of James (Suzanne) Totten and Nate (Amanda) Totten. Cherished grandfather of Victoria Totten and Benjamin Totten. Dearest brother of Pam (Wayne) Uhler.
Phil was born in Wooster, Ohio on August 1, 1948 to the late James D. Totten and Wanda Jane Swanson. He grew up in Wayne county on a farm, loved animals as well as hunting and fishing as a child. He always spoke of the cars and trucks he used to drive and fix as he grew up. That turned into a love of going into competitive drag racing with his Camero at Dragway 42 and other raceways in the area in the 70s. As he aged he enjoyed all types of racing and was able to drive a NASCAR at Lowe’s Motor Speedway later in his life. He loved raising Haflinger ponies and won several Wayne County Championships throughout the years. Phil was a business owner for many years. When he retired, he and his wife Sharon enjoyed collecting antiques. Most of all though he loved spending time with his family.
A visitation will be held July 19, 2024 at Sunset Chapel 6245 Columbia Rd, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070, from 4-8. A service will be held at Sunset Chapel July 20, 2024 at 10am with interment to follow.
