Ralph Conley's Obituary
Ralph Conley, affectionately known as Bong, age 88, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at the Cleveland Clinic following decades long battle with heart disease.
Bong was born April 30, 1935, in Chapmanville, West Virginia, and had lived in the Cleveland area since the 1950s.
He retired from Teledyne Republic in 1998 where he worked as a machinist. For the past two decades, Bong spent his days exploring his curiosity by tinkering in his yard, drawing, and deeply loving his ever-growing family.
Bong met his wife, Wanda, on a street corner - not what you think - and promised to marry her once she finished high school. After four years of dating and 66 years of marriage, their love gave life to two children, six grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife, Wanda; daughter, Becky Conley; son, Joe (Donna) Conley; grandchildren, Ryan, Melissa, Stephanie (Mark), Sean (Carlie), Joey (Emma), and Jenna (Kyle); great-grandchildren, Cecilia, Jacob, Kayla, Kelsey, Owen, Ayden, Payton, Oliver, Finn, and Rowan; his sister, Loucreda (Haven) Linkous; also, preceding him in death his brother, Clarence (Helen) Conley and sister, Ernestine Adkins. Bong was the loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Friends and Family may gather from 3:00PM to 7:00PM on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at Sunset Chapel (6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070). A Funeral Service will begin at 10:00AM on Wednesday February 21, 2024, with Reverend Joseph Kelley officiating. He will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park in Section 37.
