Raymond F. Dooling's Obituary
Raymond F. Dooling, 76, of Olmsted Township, Ohio, passed away on December 31, 2024. Born in Berea, Ohio, on April 1, 1948, to the late Thomas and Lottie Dooling.
Ray was the beloved husband to the late Sharon Dooling and brother to the late Tommy Dooling. He is survived by his son, Charles (Michele) Dooling, and his grandchildren, Katelyn Dooling and Julia Dooling. Ray was a beloved uncle to Debbie Dooling and a great-uncle to Ryan Tucholski. He was a cherished brother-in-law to Jim and Tiny Koscielski, George and Debby Bihary, Tony and Kathy Cucuzza. Ray was also a beloved friend to Mary Lou Fitzgerald and a friend to many.
Ray enjoyed hot rod car shows and drag racing motorcycles in his earlier years. He proudly owned a '66 Chevelle with his nickname "Papa Smurf" emblazoned on it. Ray had a long career as a freight truck driver and, after retiring, began driving a school bus for the local schools. He had a soft spot for animals and was a proud Army veteran, even receiving the Purple Heart. Ray spent some of his time at the local VFW, playing pool and enjoying the company of other veterans.
A visitation for Ray will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Rd, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070, with a memorial service to immediately follow.
