Renee Marie Lange's Obituary
Renee Marie Lange, age 66, passed away on February 24, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on January 15, 1960, she was the cherished daughter of the late Erich and Irene Lange, whose values and spirit she carried throughout her life.
Renee shared more than 30 beautiful years with her devoted partner, Janet Mauro, a bond marked by deep companionship, laughter, and unwavering support. She was a beloved sister to Regina Safarz and to Dabar Hoorelbeke, who preceded her in death, and sister-in-law to Peter Hoorelbeke. She was a proud and loving aunt to Jason (Michelle, deceased) Safarz, Eric Safarz, Blake (Keith) Maser, Casey (Kayla) Hoorelbeke, and Jesse Hoorelbeke. Her joy only grew with the next generation, as she became a great aunt to Caroline, Austin, Jameson, Coraline, and Kellan, each of whom brought her immense pride and delight.
Renee lived a life rich with passion and simple pleasures. An exceptional chef, she poured love into every meal she created, often gathering those she cared for around her table. She treasured her time at her Lake Berlin cottage in Deerfield, Ohio, where pontoon rides, peaceful mornings, and the beauty of the water brought her serenity. A lifelong Disney enthusiast, she found magic in every visit to the parks, embracing the joy and wonder they offered. At home, she shared a special bond with her beloved kitty, Taz, who was always by her side.
Renee’s warmth, humor, and generous spirit touched everyone who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the memories she created, the traditions she nurtured, and the love she gave so freely.
In honor of her compassion for animals, donations may be made to the Northeast Ohio SPCA Pet Shelter.
