Richard Joseph "Rich" Darmstadt's Obituary
Richard J. Darmstadt of Elyria, Ohio passed away April 26, 2023, in Bay Village. He was born on June 16, 1929, in Cleveland, Ohio. He served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict from 1951-1953.
Richard was employed at General Pest Control, Cleveland for 43 years, and also cooked for Bearden’s Restaurant in Rocky River for many years. He enjoyed cooking, bingo, and playing cards, but most of all he cherished time with his family.
Richard was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Joyce (Peecook) Darmstadt, brothers Bernard and Edward Darmstadt, and his parents Bernard and Cecelia (Karp) Darmstadt.
He is survived by his daughters, Susan Ternes of Elyria, Christine Mickolick of Columbia Station, Laura James of Georgia, sons, John and Michael f Elyria; 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, and his sister Dolores “Dolly” Drown.
Per Richard’s request, there will be no visitation or service. Sunset Memorial Chapel is in charge of the cremation. Many thanks to the Hospice of Western Reserve for their service and care.
