Richard "Dick" Wolnik's Obituary
Richard Wolnik, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2025, after a long illness. He left this world surrounded by the love of his family, with his devoted wife Jeannie tenderly holding him.
Richard was preceded in death by his cherished daughters, Carolyn and Cynthia, his beloved siblings, Joe, Ronald, Victor and Mary Jane.
He is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Jeannie. From the moment they crossed paths, he knew she was his partner for life. They shared a beautiful and enduring love. Their life together was one made by deep devotion, mutual respect, and countless cherished memories. Their bond was a constant source of strength and joy. Through every season of life, the supported each other with unwavering love, building a home filled with laughter, compassion and family. Richard’s greatest happiness moments were those spent as Jeannie’s side. To Richard, Jeannie was not only his wife, but his best friend, his confidante, his whole world. Together they shared a love story that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
He is survived by his children, Jeff, Jack and Jeanne, who will forever cherish the guidance, love and strength he gave them. He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Angi, Jesse, Shannon, Kenneth, Lannette, James, Ash, Erica, Kyle, Marlena, Stephanie and Caitlin. His greatest joy was watching his family grow, he was especially proud to be a great- grandfather to Nick, Eryan, Thomas, Aubrey, Kaiden, Adeline, Zoe, Cecelia, Zayden, Annalynn and Nora. He was even further blessed to welcome great-great grandchildren, Abigail, Bailey, Emily and Wyatt- the newest lights of his legacy, who brought him immeasurable joy.
Richard is survived by his beloved siblings, Larry (Nik), Susan and Karen, with whom he shared an unbreakable bond. Richards love for his brothers and sisters was one of the greatest joys of his life- they were not only family, but friends and sources of strength. Though he deeply mourned those that passed before him, the deep closeness he shared with all of his siblings was a constant in his life and a reflection of the love that defined him.
Richard dedicated more than 30 years of his career to Ford Motor Company, retiring as Health and Safety Supervisor, where he was respected for his leadership and care for others. He later spent 16 years at North Olmsted Golf Course, a place that blended his passion for golf with the love of community.
One to never sit still, Richard found joy in many things- golf, music, The Cleveland Browns, Ohio State Football, The Cleveland Indians, airplanes, trains, puzzles- but above all, he found the greatest fulfillment in the company of those he loved.
Richard will be remembered not only for his hard work and dedication, but the warmth of his smile, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave so freely. His legacy of love, quiet strength and family devotion will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him. Heaven has gained a gentle soul whose memory will be cherished forever.
A service to celebrate Richard's life will be held at 315 Vista Circle, North Olmsted, OH on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at 2:00 p.m., where family and friends may come together to pay their respects and find comfort in one another.
