Richard was the loving father of Karen (Robert) Barry, Cheryl (Michael) Dolohanty, Robyn (Michael) DeGennaro, Jeffrey (Laura) Mobley, and Dawn (James) Dickson and the dear brother of Diane (Kenneth) Fox and David Mobley.
He was very proud of his thirteen grandchildren, Jennifer (Leo) Echevarria, Karina Barry, Erin (Jacob) Duran, Kevin (Lindsey) Dolohanty, Kelly (John) Durachinsky, Catherine Dolohanty, Sean Dolohanty, Meghan DeGennaro, Danielle (Matt Brewington) DeGennaro, Sarah Mobley, Alyssa Mobley, Alexandria Dickson, and Tyler Dickson, and thrilled to be the great grandfather of Laila Burks, Salma Casas, Robert Leo Echevarria, Daniel Barry, Anity Duran, Addison Duran, Kara Dolohanty, Colin Durachinsky and Riley Durachinsky.
Dad was a man who needed to help people and he did exactly that his entire life. As a teen, he was a camp counselor. As a young man, he was a proud member of the U.S. Navy. Later on, Dad was very involved in the YMCA and the Indian Guides / Indian Princess program. He volunteered at Southwest General Hospital and was president of his homeowners association. Throughout all of this, Dad was the best dad and papa a family could ever ask for. He enjoyed family camping trips, Christmas cookie decorating day and any other excuse for getting members of the family together so he could tease, catch up and spend time with us. We were the center of his life and he made sure we all knew it.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, September 14, 2017, at the Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted. Interment at Sunset Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Cleveland YMCA, www.clevelandymca.org.
