Robert McClellan Alexander's Obituary
Robert McClellan Alexander passed away on July 26, 2024, at the age of 92. Born in 1932 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, he was a devoted family man, a veteran of the Army, and a dedicated salesman.
Robert, the son of the late Robert C. and Gladys Alexander, lived a full life He served in the Army, traveled the USA as a salesman, and traveled the world with family and friends. Post-retirement, he volunteered at Fairview Hospital and the Cleveland Metroparks. Wherever he went, he made an indelible impression.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Charlotte Gruss. Robert’s legacy lives on through his children, Cathleen (Dan Joyce) Alexander and Robert (Madeline) Alexander. His grandchildren, Sophie Alexander Salvo, Gretchen Alexander, Robert Ackerman, Elizabeth “Pooks” Ackerman, and Scott Ackerman, carry forward his adventurous spirit and love of life, In addition, Robert’s great-grandchildren, June Coffey, Peter Salvo, Ida Rose Ackerman and Zoe Ackerman will grow up with stories of their remarkable great-grandfather. He is also survived by his beloved sister, Ann Lebo and countless nieces and nephews.
Robert M. Alexander touched the lives of many, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and service. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
A visitation will be held on August 5, 2024 from 12pm-2pm at Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Rd, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070, with a service to follow at 2pm.
