My family lived next door on Brookhigh Dr. in Brooklyn. Mr. And Mrs. Skerda were always very nice to us kids. When my dad got me a new baseball glove when I was about twelve years old, I always remember Mr Skerda showing a personal interest and giving me some leather conditioner to break it in. I’ve always been an avid baseball fan an wore that glove when I played in CYO and later was an All Conference player in high school.
