Robert VanHorn's Obituary
Robert J. VanHorn, 84, of Strongsville, went to his Eternal Home on August 8, 2023. He was born March 20, 1939, in Cleveland, to the late Claude and Margaret (nee Timko) VanHorn.
Bob was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed being in nature. You could often find him fishing, gardening, or golfing in his free time. He was a huge Ohio State Buckeyes fan. Bob loved all animals, especially his dogs, Marmaduke, King, Lola, and grand-dogs, Finn and Grippa. He would take them on long walks and boat rides on the lake. After he retired, Bob built and restored a 1932 Roadster, which was his pride and joy. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and grandfather.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Claude “Patty”.
He leaves behind a loving family to cherish his memory, including his wife of 63 years, Claire; daughters, Cheryl and Shelly (Mike); granddaughters, Christine, Alexandria (Ehrich), and Adriana (Ryan); brother, Richard; numerous nieces and nephews; other extended family members and friends.
Friends and Family may gather for a Visitation on Monday, August 14, 2023 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at 12:00PM. His final resting place will be at Sunset Cemetery, North Olmsted, Ohio.
