Robert Michael Wallner's Obituary
Robert Michael Wallner, 84, of Strongsville, Ohio, passed away on August 28, 2024. Born on January 2, 1940, to the late Anton and Katherine Wallner, Bob lived a life full of love and dedication to his family and friends.
Bob married the love of his life, Mary Wallner, on September 26, 1986. He is the beloved dad to Dawn (Richard) Norman, Lori (Robert) Habermann, and Eric Wallner. Bob was a proud grandpa to Scott, Brian, Shane, and Brett, and a dear great-grandpa to Elaine, Nicholas, and Oliver. He was preceded in death by his brother, Anton Wallner.
Bob was an avid golfer, woodworker, Cleveland sports fan, and loved the water - as was evidenced by his service in the United States Coast Guard. He enjoyed boating, fishing and scuba diving and was an amateur underwater photographer. He also loved the outdoors - hiking, gardening, and flowers, especially sunflowers which he grew from seed every year. Bob was loved by everyone - his family, high school friends, golfing buddies, and anyone who crossed his path. He loved to see family gather and spend time together giving him many cherished memories. Bob will be remembered for his kindness, his dedication to his family, and his unwavering spirit. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Friends and family are invited to gather in honor of Bob’s life at Sunset Memorial Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070, on Thursday, September 26, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bob’s honor to the charity of the donor’s choosing.
