Robert A. Wendt's Obituary
Robert Wendt (87), passed away peacefully on August 17, 2020.
Survived by his wife of 63 years, Rose, brother, Vernon, and children: Paul (Christine), John, Daniel (Carole), Dorene, Roberta (Kevin). He was so proud of his grandchildren: Nathan (Tiffany), Bethany, Carl (Aubrey), Michael (Shawna), Erica (Joshua), Lauren (Ryan), Molly, Allan (Lynn), Patricia (Harvey), Bryan (Julie), Juliana (David), Matthew (Katelyn), Jennifer, Joshua & Emma; and great-grandchildren: Evelynn, Micah, William, Penley, Zoe, Malcolm, Walter & Abigail
Bob was born in Cleveland, OH to the late Raymond & Esther Wendt, and was a long-time resident of North Olmsted.
Bob graduated from Ohio University, where he was a member of the Air Force ROTC, and later earned a master’s degree from Kent State University.
He retired from the US Air Force Reserves and was a teacher and principal for the Cleveland Schools.
He was active in the Boy Scouts with his sons, and many other organizations including Kiwanis, the Senior Center, AARP & ORTA.
He was honored as Citizen of the Year in North Olmsted in 1997.
He loved his Savior and was a dedicated member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church.
Bob loved photography, Cleveland sports, and spending time with his family at his Apple Valley cabin.
A private service will take place at All Saints Lutheran Church, Olmsted Falls.
Interment will be at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio
