Roger G Larson's Obituary
Roger Glen Larson, 80, of Columbia Station, Ohio went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on October 10, 2022. He was born on April 27, 1942, in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Elmer and Dorothy (nee Shabel) Larson. Roger was a proud veteran of the United States Army, training as a military policeman during the Vietnam War. In his later years, he found his calling as a corrections officer at Northeast Prerelease Corrections, a security guard for Polaris Career Center, and the head jailer for Brook Park Jail. Roger was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed spending time fishing, boating with family, and creating a peaceful outdoor oasis around his home. He was a Civil War collector and a proud family man. He will be fondly remembered as a beloved husband and loving, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
He will be deeply missed by his wife Shirley (nee Aubin) whom he married on August 23, 1980; daughter Robin Uiselt; stepchildren Michael Guay, Debbie Kalin, Christopher (Leisa) Guay, and Scott (Shannon) Guay; grandchildren Haley and Kaitlyn Uiselt; step grandchildren Cassandra (Doug) Bryant, Roseanna (Dan) Ghazaleh, Heather Guay, and Matt Guay; great grandchildren Maddie, Ben, and Ellie; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings Kalanor Larson, Leah Gunderson, and David Larson.
A memorial service with military honors will be held on Thursday, October 27th, 2022 at 4 PM at Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio with a light reception and fellowship to follow.
