Ronald W. Johnson's Obituary
Ronald W. Johnson passed away on November 11, 2024, after battling dementia for a number of years.
Ron was a US Navy veteran stationed at Gitmo from 1956-1959. He then worked for the Cleveland Hopkins Airport Crash Crew as a fireman before joining the Fairview Park Fire Department.
Ron had many side jobs delivering flowers for Brown Pleasance and Fays Flowers (formerly in Berea), delivering the Sun News to paperboys’ home, painting houses, and filling vending machines. He then went to truck driving school and drove semi-trucks. He followed that with a short stint as a limo driver and part owner. He also delivered blood for blood couriers and stat couriers.
Ron was a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, the Benevolent Order of Elks, the Free Masons, and the VFW.
Ron is survived by his wife, Dorothy “Dottie,” his daughter, Lee, and her life partner, Jim Roberts, his sister, Joan (Harley) Knowlton of Ashland, and his brother, Robert Johnson of Florida. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Gerald, Kenneth, Charles, Pauline, Clarice, Leona, Harriet, and Walter.
