Ronald D. Johnson's Obituary
Ronald D. Johnson, 84 of Avon Lake, formerly of Sheffield Lake passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at St. John Medical Center. He was born on September 9, 1931 in Lorain, and served in the U.S. Air Force for four years in Alaska as a cook. He worked at Republic Steel in Cleveland, and retired from his position as an electrician for the Ford Motor Company, Avon Lake Plant. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, and a member of the Valley Of Cleveland Scottish Rite. He was quite musical and taught himself to play various instruments, including the banjo, guitar, ukulele, and the harmonica. He would entertain residents at the Avon Lake Town Center with his harmonica playing. He dabbled in water color, oil paint and pencil sketches. He enjoyed cooking and baked terrific pies. He is survived by his loving children Rebecca A. Stamper (Danny K.) of Olive Hill, KY, and Dayne A. Johnson of Kansas City, MO; dear grandchildren Christopher, Alyssa, Bethany, Matthew, Alex, Graham, and Brady; and former wife and special friend Lois M. Johnson of Bay Village. He was preceded in death by his parent Dayne and Marie, and his brother Darwin. Memorial Contributions may be forwarded to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) 3543 Pickett Rd, Lorain, OH 44053. Friends may call at the Busch Funeral Home, 163 Avon –Belden Rd., Avon Lake on Friday, May 13 from 10-11am. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home, following visitation on Friday at 11am, with Rev. Dr. Gordon Myers of Rockport United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in North Olmsted..
