Ronald Anthony Magold's Obituary
Ronald Anthony Magold, 85, of Independence, Ohio, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on March 1, 2026. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, on October 15, 1940, he was the cherished son of the late Nicholas and Dorothy Magold.
Ron was the beloved husband of 65 years to Geraldine “Geri” (née Jakubowski) Magold, with whom he shared a lifetime of love, partnership, and devotion. Together they built a strong and joyful family that remained the center of Ron’s world.
He was the loving father of Michele (Kim Stefanini) Marcus, Cheryl (Ken) Banaszak, and Laura (Trent) Voelkl. Ron was a proud and dedicated grandfather to Josh (Kayleigh) Banaszak, Kayleigh (Josh Case) Banaszak, Jacob Shopp, Zach Banaszak, Nicholas Shopp, and Emma Shopp. Nothing brought him more happiness than watching his grandchildren play sports—he was their biggest fan and constant supporter.
Ron dedicated 35 years of his career to working as an electrician at Alcoa, where he was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to safety.
He was the brother of Dorothy (Tim) Murphy (Both Deceased), Roger (deceased) (Marilyn) Magold, and Raymond (Phyllis) Magold. He was a treasured uncle, great‑uncle, and friend to many.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Ron loved the game—whether it was golf, which he played avidly, or cheering on his beloved Cleveland teams through every season. His passion for sports was matched only by the joy he found in sharing those moments with his family; cheering on his grandchildren at their games.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to Holy Family Hospice.
