Ronald Ray Wilburn's Obituary
Ronald Ray Wilburn, age 90, a proud resident of Olmsted Township for over 50 years, passed away on December 16, 2025. He was born on July 7, 1935, in Jennings, Maryland. For the past 31 years, Ronald shared his life with his devoted companion, Debra Haecker of Wabash, Indiana.
Ronald spent his career as an owner-operator, logging over 3 million miles on the open road. His dedication and hard work were a testament to his character and commitment to providing for his family. After retiring from trucking, he continued his passion for travel by transporting FEMA trailers and campers for Gateway Transport in Indiana.
He loved farm tractors, attending the Lorain County Fair, and participating in engine shows. Ronald was a proud member of the American Legion Club and the Lagrange Engine Club, where he formed lasting friendships.
Ronald is survived by his children: Tammy Sigman (Deceased-Wayne) and Terry (Holly) Wilburn and extended son, Joe Heacker; 9 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his siblings, Helen Weimer and Wendell Wilburn, along with many friends and extended family members.
He is preceded in death by his parents Perry O. Wilburn and Dorothy Mae Bittinger and his brother Troy Wilburn.
He will be remembered for his strength, his love for family, and his unwavering work ethic. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A visitation will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025, at Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM, with a graveside service immediately after at 2:45 PM.
