Rose Dorothy Wendt's Obituary
Rose D Wendt (88) went to be with her Lord & Savior on June 12, 2024.
Rose was born in South Dakota to the Rev. Marcus and Dorothea Duchow. She was the second of seven children and grew up in Washington and Oregon.
Rose attended Concordia Teacher’s College in Nebraska and then taught at Lutheran High School in Houston Texas.
While in Texas, Rose met her husband of 63 years, Robert, who was serving in the Air Force. After a brief time in California, Rose & Bob moved to Cleveland and raised their family there.
Rose was proceeded in death by her parents, husband Robert, son John, siblings Floyd , George and June.
Rose is survived by her children: Paul (Christine), Daniel (Carole), Dorene, Roberta (Kevin), and her siblings: James (Chris), Joyce, Mark(Jane), and sister in law Judy.
Rose delighted in being a grandmother to: Nathan (Tiffany), Bethany, Carl (Aubrey), Michael (Shawna), Erica (Joshua), Lauren (Ryan), Molly, Allan (Lynn), Patricia (Harvey), Bryan (Julie), Juliana (David), Matthew (Katelyn), Jennifer, Joshua & Emma (Ryan); and her great-grandchildren: Evelynn, Micah, Anna, Willow, William, Penley, Harrison, Zoe, Malcolm, Walter, Abigail, Noah, Rebecca, Addison, Benjamin & Jackson.
Rose was active in church activities, Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, as a den mother in the Boy Scouts, Brownie leader, Kiwanis Ladies and North Olmsted Community Counsel.
Rose loved singing, reading, crocheting, playing cards and spending time with family at reunions, and her cabin at Apple Valley.
Memorial Service to be held Saturday June 29, 2024 at All Saints Lutheran Church: 7230 Columbia Rd, Olmsted Township, Ohio 44138 at 2pm.
