Ruth Lucille Gehrman's Obituary
Ruth Lucille Gehrman, age 86, passed away on October 31, 2025. She was born on April 3, 1939 in Beckley, West Virginia to the late Hubert and Martha Brooke Lucas.
In July of 1963, Ruth married her beloved husband, Carl Gehrman, and they had a beautiful life together until his passing in February 2025. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Robert Lucas, Maryellen Dalton, and William Lucas.
Ruth is survived by her brother, Dennis (Cindy) Lucas; brother-in-law, Richard (Lois) Gehrman; dear friend, Bonny (Don) Pultz; and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
Ruth began working as a teenager on a dairy farm in Beckley, after which she and her mother Brooke moved to Cleveland where she became an aide at Deaconess Hospital. She and Carl met there and became engaged. She spent many years cleaning homes and offices for clients in Lakewood. Ruth was a faithful member of Abram Creek Baptist Church for over 50 years. At home, she was always there for her friends and neighbors, tending to them when they were sick or needed a helping hand or just someone to listen. She loved a good joke and the simple pleasures of sitting in her back yard and chatting with her dear neighbors.
A meal will be offered at 4:30 p.m. and visitation will be held at 6:00 p.m. at Abram Creek Baptist Church, 18664 Sheldon Road, Brook Park, Ohio 44142, with the funeral service to follow starting at 7:00.
Ruth will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park, 6265 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070.
