Ruth Pyor's Obituary
Ruth C. Pryor (née Whitney), age 101, of Brook Park, Ohio, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2026. Born in Cleveland on January 17, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Elizabeth Whitney.
Ruth was the beloved mother of Glenn (Sue) Pryor, Bonnie Pryor‑Roten, and David (Eileen) Pryor. She was the cherished grandmother of Aaron, Kelly, Jeffrey, Tara, Katie, and Emily, and the adored great‑grandmother of ten. She was preceded in death by her brother, George Whitney.
Ruth lived a long and joy-filled life, shaped by simple pleasures and deep devotion to the people she loved. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, word search, bowling, cooking, and baking—especially making her dish pan cookies. She treasured mall walking with her husband. Ruth delighted in watching birds out her window and always had her bird book handy. A thoughtful and faithful letter writer, Ruth found joy in staying connected with others through her words.
Above all, Ruth was known for her generous spirit. She loved her family wholeheartedly and was always ready to help anyone around her. Her kindness, warmth, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
