Salwa Corey's Obituary
Salwa (Rahal) Corey, 89, of North Olmsted, Ohio passed away peacefully on September 1, 2025. Born in Aitanit, Lebanon, she was the youngest daughter of the late Khalil and Najebe (Hilal) Rahal.
After coming to Cleveland to study at Case Western Reserve University, she met and married Camille Corey from Toledo and became his beloved wife of 70 years. She deeply loved family and together with their three children they built a beautiful life filled with love and devotion. As a wife and mother, Salwa displayed her calm and nurturing nature in all situations.
She is survived by her husband Camille Corey; her daughter Amal (Keith) Study, and son Andre (Neli) Corey; her grandsons Andre Corey Jr. and Phillip (Diana) Corey; and many nieces and nephews. Salwa was preceded in death by her cherished daughter Celeste Corey, and her dear siblings Lorraine Rassie, Renee Maghes, Alsace George, Souhail Rahal, and Wajeeh Rahal.
Salwa was a gifted cook whose warmth and hospitality was well known by her friends and family. She had an artistic flair and loved the beauty of creation. She enjoyed travel, parks, and gardening. Salwa found joy and peace in her flowers and the birds that visited her yard. But her greatest joy was her faith in her Creator, Jehovah God, and sharing her Bible based hope for a paradise earth and God’s Kingdom soon to come “on earth as in heaven”.
She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
There will be a Memorial Service held with details yet to come.
