Sandor Nemet's Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sandor Nemet, a beloved man who lived an extraordinary life of 98 years. Born in 1927, Sandor's journey ended on February 15, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and passion for life's nuances.
Sandor’s personality was a gentle blend of kindness, quietness, and unmistakable
love. His wisdom, often passed on through invaluable life lessons, inspired many.
Encouraging curiosity and nurturing a love for reading, Sandor was a beacon of knowledge and enlightenment in the lives of those around him.
There was no denying his incredible achievement in the water polo, underlining his robust spirit and athletic prowess. His talent extended far beyond the pool,
demonstrating an exceptional combination of intelligence and creativity. Sandor
was not only a seasoned structural engineer but also an artist of remarkable talent. His love for swimming was ever-present, often referred to as his secret to a
long, healthy life.
His legacy is richly woven with the love for classical music and opera, which he passionately shared with anyone willing to listen. Sandor found solace in solitude,
cherishing moments of peace and quiet, routinely engaged in a game of chess. His
strength, both mentally and physically, was a testament to his resilience and tenacity.
Sandor loved having coffee ice cream while pondering life with his only son, Alex.
His daily swims, a testament to his discipline, and commitment became a part of his identity. Sandor was incredibly proud of his Hungarian roots, which he wore like a badge of honor. However, his biggest pride was in his children, whom he loved with an unparalleled depth that touched everyone who witnessed it.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son Alex and daughter-in-law, Julie Nemet and his grandchildren Samantha, Lucy, Asher and June , who will carry on his legacy, remembering the love, lessons, and invaluable experiences he generously shared. Sandor will be greatly missed, yet his indelible impact will continue to resonate in the hearts of those he touched.
He is preceded in death by his beloved daughter Alexandra, of which he spoke of everyday ,and his parents Sandor and Gizella.
A memorial for Sandor will take place March 14 at 2pm at Good Soil Church 20300 Hilliard Blvd in Rocky River Ohio, with a celebration of life to follow on the lower level.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Westside Hungarian Lutheran Church in Rocky River Ohio .
