Sandra Lee Goerz's Obituary
Sandra Lee Goerz, 80, of Middleburg Heights, Ohio, passed away on August 18, 2024. Born on August 31, 1943, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Anna and William Goerz Sr., Sandra dedicated her life to education and community service.
Sandra is survived by her loving sister, Linda Owens; cherished nieces, Wendy Owens and Heidi Owens; and dear sister-in-law, Elizabeth Goerz. She was preceded in death by her beloved brother, William Goerz Jr.
For 30 years, Sandra was a beacon of hope and inspiration as a teacher, primarily working with learning-disabled children in the Cleveland City Schools. Her passion for education didn’t stop there; she founded the Joyful Noise Music School, spreading the joy of music to many.
A pillar of Denison Avenue United Church of Christ, Sandra held a leadership role and was deeply involved in her church community. Her faith and commitment were evident in all she did.
Sandra’s artistic talents were boundless, especially in sewing and crafts. She was known for her intelligence, hard work, and capability, always ready to embark on a new adventure.
Sandra’s legacy of dedication, creativity, and adventurous spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be fondly remembered and deeply missed.
A graveside service will be held on September 3, 2024 at 2 pm at Sunset Memorial Park, 6245 Columbia Rd. North Olmsted Ohio 44070. Please arrive at the funeral home no later than 1:45 PM to then process to the graveside.
