The day that Sandy learned I had never seen Steel Magnolias, she made it her mission to ensure I had the full experience. Lo and behold, as though she conjured it up with her own special brand of Sandy Magic, there was soon an anniversary screening that she arranged our attendance at, And I. Loved. Every. Minute.
Every day with Sandy was magic, really. She had this gift where she could always figure out just how to make a person feel welcome and included. She could make you laugh within minutes of joiniung a space. She would offer sage advice without any sort of overbearing attitude. And man, did she know how to get people to sign liability waivers. She once hid me under her desk when I was hiding from a horrible office visitor. She was the Wolverine to my Deadpool, the Laverne to my Shirley, and I will miss her dearly.
Memopry Eternal, my Sandycakes.
