Sandra Lee Purper's Obituary
Sandra Lee Purper, 87, passed away January 15, 2026, while in memory care at St. Therese of Westlake, Ohio.
Born in Leeds, Alabama to Bill and Ruth Lee, Sandy graduated from Penn High School and Robert Morris College in Pittsburgh before moving to North Olmsted, Ohio. She worked for the city of North Olmsted, retiring as Fire and Safety Services Secretary after her 30-year career with the city.
Sandy was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Bill Purper; son, William Sturm; grandsons John Sturm and William Purper III; and her brother William Lee.
Surviving are her children, Bob (Sue) Sturm and John (Karen) Sturm; stepchildren, Gayle (Bob) Morrison and William Purper Jr.; grandchildren, Matt (April) Purper, Jenny (Bill) Barak, Michael (Taylor) Sturm, Evan (Lindsey) Sturm, Kaleigh (Zach) Beilharz, and Matt Sturm; her great-grandchildren, Max and Cameron Purper, Will and Ella Hyatt, Elena, Sophia and Isabella Sturm, Adler and Briggs Sturm and Crue, Lennon and Beau Beilharz.
The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. prior to a memorial and burial service at 11:00 at Sunset Memorial Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070 on Monday February 23, 2026.
