Sharon Watkins' Obituary
On Saturday, January 25, 2025, at the Village of The Falls, Olmsted Falls, Ohio, Sharon (Johnson) Watkins, age 83, of Columbus, Ohio, received her heavenly rewards and reunited with her loving husband, Clarence Watkins. Sharon passed away peacefully surrounded by her faithful son, Christopher, daughter-in-law Angelica, and grandson, Tristan, and in vigilant prayer across the miles, Sharon’s three remaining bonus children, Karen (Watkins) Flu-Allen, Michael Watkins Sr., and Monica (Watkins) Fane.
Surrounded by the care and prayers of those who loved her, Sharon entered eternal rest after a life filled with faith, courage, and an unwavering love for her family, friends, and community.
Born of Mt. Sterling, Ohio, Sharon attended the Ohio State University majoring in English. She had long careers at Columbus Housing Authority and the EPA before retiring. She was an active member at Mt. Olivet Baptist church serving on the bereavement ministry and singing in the choir. She was very charitable. She also enjoyed travel, going to casinos, was an avid reader, loved eating and adored being a grandmother to her grandchildren.
Sharon leaves to cherish her memory, Son: Christopher (Angelica) Watkins; Bonus children: Michael (Lisa) Watkins Sr.; Karen (Harold) Flu-Allen; and Monica (Delden) Fane; Grandchildren: Tristan Watkins; Lischele and Michael Watkins; Marissa and Travis Flu-Allen; Michael and Randy Hairston; Ashley and Nathan Pendergrass, Jr. Kayla Arnold, Allen Pendergrass (Son-in-law); Karen Cooper (Cousin) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and treasured friends.
Sharon was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Gladys Johnson; her loving husband, Clarence Watkins; and bonus children, Judy (Watkins) Pendergrass and Kenneth Watkins.
Family will receive friends, Monday February 10, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. for visitation. Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Columbus, Ohio. Inurnment will be at Franklin Hills Memory Gardens in Canal Winchester, Ohio immediately following the memorial service.
