Sheila Ann Gordon's Obituary
Sheila Ann Gordon, 80, of Grafton, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2016.
She was born in Hazel Park, MI on April 25, 1936, the daughter of Scottish immigrants, Alexander and Ann (Simpson) Coutts. Sheila was the first of her siblings to be born in the United States.
Beloved wife of the late William T. F. Gordon, whom she met in Detroit, MI and married on July 1, 1961; loving mother of William (Bonnie) Gordon, Alexander T. Gordon and Jennifer (Patrick) Smith; cherished grandmother of William and Brittany Gordon, and Abigail and Emma Smith; caring sister of the late Alexander Coutts and Helen Accra.
Sheila attended Commerce High School in Detroit, MI, class of 1954. She and her husband, William, moved to Cleveland to begin their family while William was employed at Ford Motor Co. She had formerly been employed at Michigan Bell Telephone Co. and then at Pacific Bell Telephone Co. in California as a payroll accountant. She was later employed at Durkee’s General Store in Grafton before her retirement. Sheila was actively involved with all of her children’s school functions. She enjoyed traveling, and spending time with her family and friends, most especially her grandchildren.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m., Thursday, December 22, 2016, at Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted, OH, where funeral services will take place at 12 noon, Friday, December 23. Entombment at Sunset Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, Ames Family Hospice, 30080 Hospice Way, Westlake, OH 44145, or Rainbow Babies and Children’s UH Cleveland Medical Center NICU, 11100 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, OH 44106.
