Sheila Dorothy Mills' Obituary
Sheila Dorothy Mills (née Kinch) passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at the age of 87, surrounded by her loving family after a fierce battle with cancer. She is survived by her four daughters; Brenda, Carol, Jennifer, and Pamela. Sheila leaves behind a legacy of love and adventure.
Born on January 28, 1939 in Southall, Middlesex, England, Sheila was the oldest of eight siblings: Michael, Patricia (Ian), Peter (Lesley), James, Maureen (Colin), Eamonn (Marian), and Eileen. Sheila was a nurse at a psychiatric hospital in England, and later in the U.S., she worked as a bank teller.
At the age of 19, she married Richard Mills. Together they had four daughters, Brenda, Carol (Jeffrey), Jennifer (Alan), and Pamela (Michael). Sheila was blessed with eleven grandchildren: Nikki (Chad), Megan, Jacob (Diane), Rachel, Scott, Keith, Matt, Bailey, Shelby, Ryan and Chloe. Sheila was a proud great-grandmother to six: Autumn, David, Lucille, Colin, Everett, and William. Dogs also played a prominent role in her family, including Whiskey, Rufus, Buddy, Shadow, Grady, Roscoe and Molly.
In Sheila’s own words, “England has my roots and my soul,” and in retirement, she was always planning her next trip to visit family in England or cross a new location off her extensive bucket list.
Sheila is preceded in death by her parents; her siblings Michael, Peter and Eileen; and her grandson Keith.
She will be profoundly missed for her sharp wit, her laughter, and her ability to bring a massive room full of people together.
