Sherry L. Petryszyn's Obituary
Sherry Lee Petryszyn, age 67. Beloved wife of Ted Petryszyn for 42 years. Proud mother of Rosemarie Petryszyn Votaw (Andrew). Dear sister of Valerie Perout (David). Loved by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Cherished daughter of the late Alfred and Bernice Callahan. Loving dog mom to George and Goober. Sherry lived a wonderfully diverse life full of many facets. She was a Operating Room nurse for over 40 years and taught nursing school for 5 years. She would facilitate educational trips for children at the surgical center where they would pretend to do surgical procedures. She was proud to mentor children to become nurses and doctors. She was the former president of the Northeast Ohio chapter of the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses and volunteered for the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad.
In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking and was famous for her chocolate chip cookies! She and her best friend also started a program called Stage 4 which brings cards and care bags to people with cancer who are starting their first chemo treatment. She had a deep faith in God and always believed in paying it forward.
Funeral Mass at St. Ladislas Catholic Church Tuesday, August 3 at 11 AM at 2345 Bassett Rd, Westlake, OH. Friends may call at Busch Funeral Home, Parma, OH on Monday, August 2 from 4-8 PM. Masks will be required during visiting hours per the wishes of the family. Interment on Tuesday, August 3rd at 12:45 PM.
