Shirley Ann Campbell's Obituary
Shirley Ann Campbell (nee Rich), age 83 of Avon, OH, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2023, after a long battle with COPD.
Shirley – or Shirl as she was known to friends – was born in New Hope, Alabama to Adrian and Nina Marie Rich on October 7, 1939. She moved to Michigan as a child and lived there with her three children when she met the love of her life, Peter Campbell, while working at Hudson’s. Life took them to Ohio, where they resided in Rocky River to raise their children before ultimately moving to Avon for their retirement.
Shirley doted on her grandchildren and great granddaughter and will be fondly remembered for her love of casinos, Celine Dion, and chap stick. She was a perfectionist and had a penchant for telling her children how to do things the right way, flower arrangements, and meticulously wrapped presents.
Shirley was preceded in death by her two children, David Scott LaCasper and Dana Lynn Campbell, her son-in-law, Greg Moore, and her beloved husband, Peter. She is survived by her daughters, Dawn Holley (Brian), Denise Moore (Greg), Diane Smith (Paul), and her son, Damien Campbell (Maria). She also leaves behind her loving grandchildren, Megan Snyder (Mike), Ian Moore (Elaina), Noah Campbell, Nina Campbell, Peter Campbell, and a great granddaughter, Elsie Snyder.
Visitation and the funeral ceremony will be held Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Sunset Funeral Chapel, 6245 Columbia Rd, North Olmsted, OH 44070. Visitation at 12 pm -2 pm. Funeral service at 2 pm.
The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Hospice of the Western Reserve for taking such amazing care of Shirley during her last days.
