I will always remember you for NEVER sitting down until the job was done. I will always remember the fishing (for you, Mom, Jan) and camping–and then we discovered scrabble and conasta. What fun we had. Such competition. I will always remember the rides through the emerald necklace while playing beautiful music. I will always remember the rides to Ruth and Jim's and Eleanor's. I will always remember you as honest. Your good character was never a question. You will always live on in my heart.

Grandpapa was the heart of our Kihle family, and now that he is in Heaven, life feels off balance, but I pray that in time we will feel whole again knowing his spirit is with us. He had a way of calming you with his touch. I would always nap & feel my most rested at his home just being in the presence of the scents, sounds, and comfort of sharing a space with him. I will never forget the times we would sit holding hands at the kitchen table, playing canasta (especially the time I tricked him with a "Grandma Katie move" and he shuffled all his cards together in a fit that I beat him (a priceless moment that made us all laugh out loud)), listening to the birds in the gazebo, having the same wonderful conversation over and over until it somehow "stuck", and many more random silly things that make me think of him out of the blue. I pray to pass down his legacy to my unborn son and that Grandpapa will keep a watchful eye over him throughout his life. I love you and miss you so much. Thank you for being the best Grandpapa I could have ever dreamed to have.

For anyone that has known my grandfather, you know what a beautiful man he was. I use to love listening to the stories of his youth on the farm, the Army, early years of marriage, etc. He was an ever-present father figure to me and my siblings and we will always cherish that and be grateful that we had someone that loved us so much. I've said it before, but…Thank you, Grandpa: For loving me even when I broke your fishtank and flooded the living room; backed your car out of the driveway (Ella Grace is just like me!), when I screamed with excitement when I caught my first fish and scared the rest away:) Thank you for loving me unconditionally and for being so supportive of me during my whole life. I will miss you so very much, but know that I will see you again. Love you always and forever…Jodi
