Steve could almost always be found with a smile on his face, cracking a joke or laughing with you over someone else’s joke. His love for his family was evident and without a doubt, family was one of his favorite things in life.
I have so many great memories of a few family functions Steve and Cindy hosted when I was a child—a family Christmas or two, from so many fun white elephant exchanges that made for so many good laughs, the guys being downstairs playing pool and darts (Steve had Garth Brooks on full blast of course), to the girls sitting around the kitchen table laughing. One that stands out in my mind in particular was the 4th of July party at the Medina house—we finished off the night dancing in the barn driveway, laughing so hard at some points, we could’ve cried.
Speaking of beach vacations—I did get to go on one family trip to Myrtle Beach with Steve. I was only 9, but I’m surprised at how much I remember. I talk about it to this day and it still is guaranteed to bring me some smiles. I am now more grateful for that trip, and will hold those memories extra close.
My thoughts and prayers are with Cindy, Kyle, Kevin, Jeff & all who were lucky enough to have Steve in their circle. He will be so very missed…that’s for sure ❤️
