Susan Kay Griffin's Obituary
In Loving Memory of Susan Kay Griffin
May 24, 1957 – May 26, 2025
Susan Kay Griffin, 68, of Olmsted Falls, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, creativity, and love.
Born on May 24, 1957, to Bennie and Naomi Griffin, Susan was a warm and giving soul who touched the lives of everyone she met. Whether you knew her for a lifetime or just a moment, Susan made you feel seen, cared for, and at home. She was always the first to offer a helping hand and the last to expect anything in return.
Susan dedicated 35 years of her career as a Certified Ophthalmic Technician, including 24 years at Metro Health, where she retired in 2022. Her steady hands, attention to detail, and compassionate spirit made her a trusted caregiver and a cherished colleague. After retiring, she embraced a well-earned season of rest and creativity—spending time doing what she loved most: baking delicious treats, working on crafts, and simply enjoying the beauty of everyday life.
She especially loved Christmas—her favorite time of year—and was known for the cookies she baked with care, especially her famous Buckeyes and peanut butter blossoms. One of her greatest joys in retirement was curling up to watch Hallmark Christmas movies, letting the cozy stories and holiday spirit fill her home year-round.
Susan is survived by her loving son, Kyle Griffin, and his wife, Faith; her brothers, David (Florence) Griffin and Ken (Rona) Griffin; her sister, Lynn (Bob) Popernack; and her nieces and nephew: Nicole, Anna, and Chris.
A memorial service to honor Susan’s life will be held at Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio, on Saturday, June 7 at 12:00 pm with 2 hours of visitation prior from 10:00 am until 12:00pm. In celebration of her love for nature and beauty, flowers are warmly welcomed and may be sent to the chapel.
Though she is no longer with us, Susan’s love and kindness will continue to ripple through the lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
