Sylvia A. Churby, 90 years young of Brook Park, Ohio passed away on November 21, 2022. She was born on February 20, 1932, in Haydentown, Pennsylvania to the late Sylvester Sr. and Lillie M. (nee Christopher) Wilson. Sylvia was a founding member of Park Heights Baptist Church. She will be fondly remembered as a woman of faith which inspired her to be an active member in the church. Baking and cooking for her family and church were her passion, the wonderful aromas of her many dishes will be remembered by all. When she wasn’t cooking, she could be found feeding the birds, deer watching, or caring for her flowers, especially her rose garden. Sylvia is reunited with her loving husband Joseph, they were married November 10, 1951; loving mother of Lana J. (Ron) Hahn, Randy K. (Connie) Churby, and Ronald K. (deceased) (Roxanne) Churby; dear grandmother of Heather (Lewis) Hahn Estes, Jennifer Hahn Kalka, Rockell (Luis) Churby Llanos, Rosie (Jeff) Churby Johnson, Ryan (Jessica) Churby, and Joseph Churby; great-grandmother of Ashleigh Estes, Dylan Estes, Shawn Estes, Emmett Kalka, Mateo Llanos Churby, Isadora Llanos Churby, Nathan Churby, Cameron Churby, Emma Churby, and Noah Johnson; sister of Lillie Belle Piper (deceased), Zona Kozel, Norma Vecchiolla, Karen Wheeler, and Sylvester Wilson Jr. (deceased). Family and friends are welcome on Sunday, December 4, 2022 from 5:00 PM-8:00 PM, at the Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070. Funeral services will take place on Monday, December 5, 2022, 10 AM, at the chapel with an hour prior of visitation. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sylvia’s honor to Park Heights Baptist Church, 16189 Sheldon Road, Middleburg Heights, Ohio 44130.
