Thomas Anthony Kaschalk's Obituary
Thomas Anthony Kaschalk, age 89, passed away on January 1, 2025. Born on August 1, 1935, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Mary Ann and Anthony Kaschalk, Thomas lived a life full of love and kindness.
He is survived by his lifelong companion, Bernice Riffe, and his children and stepchildren, Thomas (Natalie) Kaschalk Jr., David (Sue) Kaschalk, Brian Riffe, and Douglas Riffe. He was preceded in death by his stepson, Kevin Riffe. Thomas was a proud grandfather to Matthew, Erin, Elizabeth, David, Eric, and Kathleen; and great-grandfather to Ben, Dylan, Dominic, and Lyla. His legacy will live on through his family.
Thomas is also survived by his siblings, Bettie Hrovat, Joe, Connie. In addition to his stepson and his parents, Thomas was also preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Ann Mazzola, Terrie August, Agnes Mellino, Pauline Fischietto, and Margie.
After high school, Thomas served for the United States Army until his honorable discharge in 1955. Thomas dedicated many years of his life to delivering for the Cleveland Press and later retired from the Cleveland Plain Dealer. He was an avid golfer, known for his kind and loving nature. He was cherished by all who knew him.
In his later years, Thomas spent several years living at the Ennis Court Nursing Home, where he was loved by all. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Ennis Court for their exceptional care and compassion.
Thomas will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His memory will forever remain in our hearts.
Graveside service will be held at Myrtle Hill Cemetery, Valley City, Ohio on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at 1:00 p.m.
