Thomas Patrick Manning's Obituary
Thomas Patrick Manning, age 78, of Fairview Park, Ohio, passed away on March 27, 2025. He was born on October 22, 1946, to the late Vincent and Betty Manning. He was raised in conjunction with his aunt Margaret “Peggy” Oberglock.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Jennifer Manning; his loving children, Carrie Farrell Manning and Gregory Manning; and his cherished grandchildren, Ronan, Ryleigh, Taelynn, and Rory. He is also survived by his sister, Beth (Chris) Theobald. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph Kelley.
He had a distinguished career as a troubleshooter/lineman with CEI, later known as the Illuminating Company for 43 years. He was also a decorated Vietnam War Veteran, having served honorably in the United States Army.
Horses were a big part of his life in his younger years, starting at Lakewood Stables. He then went on to own many horses of his own at his house in Olmsted Township.
Thomas was known for his encouraging and positive nature. He always saw the good in people and was there to help whenever needed. He enjoyed fishing, boating, and attending hockey games, football games, and watching cheerleading with his children and grandchildren. He was a devoted fan of the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians. One of his favorite pastimes was taking his grandchildren on golf cart rides at Catawba.
Thomas will be deeply missed by his family and friends, who will forever remember his kindness and unwavering support.
Visitation will be held at Sunset Memorial Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070 on Friday, April 11, 2025 from 10:00 am until 1:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park (Section 1J, Lot 5, Space 8).
