Timothy Ray Martin Dantin's Obituary
Timothy Ray Martin Dantin, age 61, died peacefully in the evening hours of Saturday, July 15, 2023, in Cleveland, Ohio. Tim was born on November 19, 1961, in New Orleans, Louisiana to Raymond (late) and Elaine Dantin (née Griffin). He is survived and will be deeply missed by his wife Susan A. Dantin (née Helline) of 36 years; two sons, Timothy R. Dantin and Christopher R. Dantin; loving granddaughter Alessia L. Dantin; Mother, Elaine M. Dantin (née Griffin); three sisters, Pamelajean D. Vidrine, Venus (Bob) Rogers, Elaine Dantin; and many nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins, and many dear friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Raymond A. Dantin; sister Michelle L. Dantin.
A Merchant Mariner on the Great Lakes by trade, Tim resided with his wife and two sons in Olmsted Falls, Ohio but continued to carry his southern charm to all who crossed his path. Tim was best known for his friendly nature and willingness to help others. He always had the answer when something needed to be fixed. His family and friends will miss his passion and skill to cook and serve, of which he was most proud to craft during holidays and events. In addition to a perfect meal, Tim enjoyed to fish, camp, tend the garden, and travel. Tim’s pride and joy was becoming Alessia’s “Papa” and watching her discover the world around her. His infectious and kind personality will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
Celebration of Life funeral ceremony will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at Sunset Funeral Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070 from 6-8 pm. An honorary toast to Tim will be at 7:30 pm. Tim’s final resting place will be at Restlawn Park & Mausoleum in Avondale, Louisiana.
