Tom Wonders' Obituary
Tom Wonders, 59, of North Olmsted, passed away suddenly on January 1, 2019, after a valiant battle with an unexpected illness, and returned into the arms of his heavenly Father.
Beloved husband of Robin (nee Carman); loving father of Ryan, Marc, and Jarret Wonders; dear brother of Jim (Connie) Wonders, David Wonders, and step brothers Bill, David, and Rolf Baehr; and uncle to many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents James Wonders and Sandy (nee Hurlbert) Baehr; brother Ron Wonders; and step brother Colby Baehr.
Tom had a gifted mathematical mind and graduated from the College of Wooster with a major in mathematics and a minor in history. He was an early American and military history enthusiast. Tom held conservative beliefs and he followed politics very closely. He was an avid Cleveland sports fan and enjoyed watching Browns, Indians, and Cavaliers games with his family. After decades of enduring Cleveland championship droughts, he cherished watching the Cavaliers win the NBA championship in 2016 with his family. He treasured coaching and supporting his boys in sports, by pitching to them at batting practice, playing basketball games with them, and filming games. Tom was looking forward to playing golf with his sons in his retirement. He was a devoted and loving father; his greatest pride was his “Boys.” Other interests include biking, hiking in the Metroparks, and enjoying local craft beer with Robin and the Boys.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 6, 2019 from 2-5 PM at the Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, OH 44070; where his funeral service will be held on Monday, January 7, 2019 at 12 PM Noon. A graveside service will immediately follow at Sunset Memorial Park. dostalbokas.com
