Troy Butcher's Obituary
Troy Butcher, age 87, of Brunswick, passed away on Monday, February 22, 2021. Troy was born in Shively, West Virginia to the late John S. and Bessie (nee Farley) Butcher on March 15, 1933. Besides his parents, Troy is preceded in death by his siblings: Vida, Thelma, Nick, Jim, Grace, Ann, Carrie, Mack, Maxine, Ray, and Roy.
Troy is survived by his wife, Margaret, of 63 blessed years; two sons Ronald (Geralyn) Butcher and Randal Shari) Butcher; grandchildren Sarah (Geoff), Kelly, and Dena; great-grandchildren Leanna, Adella, and Ryleigh; siblings John Jr., Uldeen, and Chuck; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Troy served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a part of the 101st Airborne Division Screaming Eagles. He received the Gold Medal of Conduct, Army Occupation Medal for his service in Germany, and the National Defense Service Medal. After his courageous service, Troy chose to serve an additional 8 years in the Army Reserves. Troy, his father, and all his brothers honorably served in the United States Military with dignity, pride, and valor.
Troy served his community and fellow man at the Ford Motor Company for 38 years. He was a benefits representative and primarily served in the Cleveland Casting Division before retiring.
Troy served his Lord and Savior. He acted as the senior commander of the Royal Rangers at the Bethel Temple Assembly of God in Parma, Ohio.
Troy served his family. He found so much joy caring for his growing family and will be the host to many fond memories, laughs, and smiles.
In the days to come, Troy will be dearly missed.
A visitation will be held at the Sunset Chapel located 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070 on Sunday, February 28, 2021 from 2pm until 4pm. A funeral service will be held at the Sunset Chapel on Monday, March 1, 2021 at 10am. Burial will take place promptly after services at Sunset Memorial Park where military honors will take place.
