Vaira Aina Kubulins' Obituary
Vaira Aina Kubulins (née Upesleja), born October 8, 1932, in Cesvaine, Latvia, to the late Jānis and Zelma (née Tampa), passed away peacefully on January 18, 2026.
Vaira was the beloved wife of the late Richards Kubulins and a devoted mother to Inga Cioletti (Anthony, deceased), Eriks (Laura), and Gvido (Kristine). She was a loving and proud grandmother to Nikolas Cioletti, Keven Hay, Alina Cioletti (Naidy), Jeffrey (Stephanie), Jennifer Crane (Gregory), Matthew, Samuel, Melissa, and Karlina (Rhys). She was also a cherished great‑grandmother to Saoirse, Jackson, and Meladie.
She was preceded in death by her siblings Rita, Jānis, Rute, Edmunds, Austra, Pēteris, and Evalds.
Born in Cesvaine, Latvia, Vaira immigrated to the United States in December of 1950. She met the love of her life, Richards, and they were married on February 19, 1956. Throughout her life, Vaira remained deeply connected to her Latvian heritage and faith. She was an active and devoted member of the United Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church of Cleveland and participated in many of its organizations and activities.
Vaira was known for her strong will, determination, and honesty. She found joy in gardening and took pride in everything she did. Her strength, resilience, and unwavering spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew her
.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026 from 10am-11am at Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070 and a funeral service will follow immediately after.
