Vesta Carol Warner's Obituary
Vesta “Carol” Warner, 80, of Elyria, Ohio, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s dementia. She fought with remarkable strength and determination, holding on to her memories and her spirit until the very end. She was born in Newport, Tennessee, on January 25, 1946, to the late Y.J. and Mary Irene Click.
Carol was the devoted wife of 57 years to the late Roy Warner. Together they built a life centered on love, resilience, and family. She was the beloved mother of Roger (Angela) Warner, Rhonda (John) Warner, Robyn (Rashad) Kubisen, and Tanya (Steve) Sheppard; cherished grandmother to Kyle Warner, Amanda (Trever) Warner, Raymon (Dava) Warner, Ryan (Sean) Marquis, Rylee (Colton) McClintock, and Rybecca (Adam) Kubisen; and proud great‑grandmother to Raygen, Renleigh, Charlie, and Josie. She was preceded in death by her brother, Buddy.
Carol loved her family more than anything and dedicated her life to supporting and caring for those she loved. She was a proud, recovered alcoholic of 40 years, crediting the support of AA for helping her reclaim her life. Determined to give back, she became a licensed drug and alcohol counselor with LCADA, a role she held with deep pride and compassion.
She was a loyal Midview sports fan, especially when cheering on her son, and she was a dedicated Lorain County 4‑H mom with her daughters. Carol was also an avid gardener who found joy and peace in tending to her flower beds. She loved hosting family gatherings and was known for her southern specialties — biscuits and gravy, and her beloved chicken and dumplings. She enjoyed reading Danielle Steel novels, spending time with her pets, playing bingo, and treating herself to an occasional casino trip when she could.
For those who wish, flowers are welcome, or the family would be grateful for donations to the Elyria APL, a cause close to Carol’s heart.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted, Ohio 44070. A funeral service will immediately follow in the chapel at 2:00 PM.
Carol will be laid to rest beside the love of her life, Roy, at Sunset Memorial Park, where they will be together once again
