Virgil Mills' Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Virgil Mills, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, who left us peacefully on February 15, 2025, at the age of 73.
Virgil Mills was born on June 22, 1951, in Kentucky, to Noah and Ethel (Slusher) Mills. After 46 years of service, he retired from US Steel in 2016. for A man of remarkable integrity, kindness, and wisdom, Virgil touched the lives of everyone who knew him.
Virgil was a devoted grandfather, whose greatest pride came from his family. He leaves behind 3 children and 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. His love, guidance, and sense of humor will continue to resonate with them forever. He enjoyed hunting, watching sports and spending time with his brother, Noah Mills, Jr.
Virgil is survived by sons Andrew (Kris) Mason, Chris (Angie) Hatgidek and daughter Shanna (Rick) Rose, who will carry forward his legacy of love, integrity, and hard work. He leaves behind brothers, Noah Mills Jr., Mike Mills, Raymond Mills, and two sisters Margret Taylor and Joyce Affolter. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ernie Mills.
A private service was held, and a celebration of life will be held on March 15 1-5pm at Amvets Post 32 at 11087 Middle Ave, Elyria.
He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Rest in peace, Virgil. You were great hardworking man in every sense.
