Virginia "Ginny" Homa's Obituary
Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Friend, Virginia D. Homa "Ginny", age 78, of North Olmsted, Ohio, passed away on March 22, 2025. Born on May 14, 1946, in Portland, Oregon, to the late Ross Johnson Sr and Virginia Johnson, Ginny lived a life full of love, strength, and dedication.
Ginny is survived by her loving children, Michael (Fran) Homa, Michelle (Alan) Kendall, Melanie (Bryan) Sarver, and Matthew (Brenda) Kendall. She was a proud grandmother to Nichole (Ethan), Sandra (Keith), David (Kaylee), Amy, Ruby, and Makayla, and a cherished great-grandmother to Nolan and Olivia. Ginny is also survived by her siblings, Ross Jr "Buzz" (Shauna), Francine and Kaye (Ron).
Ginny shared a special bond with the Sivertson family, her foster family, who played a significant role in her upbringing. Their strong faith influenced her decision to obtain a degree from Multnomah Bible College which had a lasting impact on her life. She spent many years as a dedicated Air Force wife and worked as a District Manager for Big Boy Restaurants, where she was known for her hard work and leadership.
Ginny’s commitment to her family was unwavering. She was her family's hero, the rock that held them together. Her strength, resilience, and independence were admired by all who knew her. Ginny was also an excellent cook, and her culinary skills will be fondly remembered by her family and friends. She will be deeply missed.
The family would like to thank all the caregivers at Riverview Pointe Care Center who gave our mother such loving care over the past few years, we are forever grateful.
Memorial visitation will be held at Sunset Memorial Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070 on Friday, March 28, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until the memorial service at 7:00 p.m.
