Virginia M. Kiraly's Obituary
Virginia M. Kiraly, age 95, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away peacefully, Thursday, September 14, 2017, with her family by her side.
Virginia was born October 28, 1921 in Dearborn, MI, to the late Elmer and Fay Ortmayer.
Devoted wife of 49 years to the late Louis S. Kiraly; cherished mother of Jim (Sandy), Jude, Terry (Leigh Ann), and Karen; beloved grandmother of Jim (Sandy), Steve, Dave (Stephanie), Arinn, Megan (Nathan), Emily (James), Katrina (Ben), and Phil; loving great grandmother of many.
Virginia was widely known in her community and made an impact on many people’s lives. She retired from a 20+ year career with the Cleveland Board of Education; beloved by faculty and students who voted her “Teacher of the Year” by write-in even though she was not a teacher! Virginia had a tremendous following on Facebook, and prior to that, on Epinions, sharing insights and writing reviews which were enjoyed and appreciated by many.
She was an artist and writer, sketching portraits, painting landscapes and in her last few years, writing poetry, short stories, plays and a novella. Virginia will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of meeting her.
A memorial service will take place Friday, October 20, 2017 at 10 AM at the Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted, OH 44070. Inurnment will immediately follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Heartland Hospice of Fort Wayne in Virginia’s name (Heartland Hospice; 1315 Directors Row, Suite 200; Fort Wayne, IN 46808).
