Virginia R. Sedmack's Obituary
Virginia R. Sedmack, 89, of North Ridgeville previous Palm Harbor, FL resident, passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2021. Born in Brownsville, PA to the late Martin and Elizabeth (nee Pozansky) Strake on November 2, 1931. Besides her parents, Virginia is preceded in death by her siblings and her husband of 69 blessed years, John Sedmack.
Virginia is survived by her children Jack (Maureen) Sedmack, Susan Sedmack, Martin Sedmack, Gregg Sedmack, Pamela (Don) Butler, Judy (Chris) Toth, and Barry (Veronica) Sedmack; grandchildren Michael Sedmack, Lauren (Zach) Johnson, Jill Sedmack, James (Kailey) Sedmack, Matt (Alina) Butler, Natalie (Matt) Veilhaber, Madeleine (Elijah) Edwards, Haylie Toth, and Nicholas Toth; and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
Virginia was a regularly active and independent woman. She loved cooking, playing bridge, crossword puzzles, and bingo. In her earlier years, Virginia started Sedmack Insurance alongside her husband in 1969. She was also an election precinct committee woman and an avid golfer in North Olmsted where she raised her family.
Most of her joy was found when she spent time with her family. Virginia was a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother that always put everyone’s needs before her own.
She will be forever missed.
A Mass will be held at St. Richard Catholic Parish 26855 Lorain Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070 on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at 10am. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park next to her husband.
