Vivian Jean Smeraldi's Obituary
Vivian Jean Smeraldi, 81, of Seven Hills, Ohio, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2023. She was born on March 6, 1941, in Cleveland, Ohio, and graduated from Westlake High School in 1959. She enjoyed her retirement after working for many years as executive secretary to the president of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, Ohio District. Vivian was a very gifted organist and pianist, who performed professionally in years past and more recently served as a member of the Praise Band at Ascension Lutheran Church in North Olmsted, Ohio. A humble woman of steadfast faith, who served alongside her husband as a Stephen Minister for many years, she leaves a legacy of selfless love for the Lord, people, and animals. Family, friends, and acquaintances alike will best remember her for her ready smile, contagious laugh, and wonderful, joyful nature.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, George and Marcelle Wiknich (nee Rauch), brother Robert Wiknich, husband Anthony M. Smeraldi, and step-granddaughter Lani. She is survived by her beloved children Jon (Ann Marie) Smeraldi and Jeri Ann Smeraldi; step-children Mark Smeraldi (Patsy Kilbane), Ria Smeraldi, and Don (Vicki) Smeraldi; grandchildren Brittany, Nicholas, and Allison; step-grandchildren Bret, Rick, Caleb, and Joshua; great-grandchildren Madison and Alexis Lorello; brother Thomas (Shannon) Wiknich; niece Denise Warren; and a host of extended family and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 13, 2023, from 4-8 pm at Sunset Funeral Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070.
A Celebration of Life funeral ceremony will be held on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at 10:30 am Ascension Lutheran Church, 28081 Lorain Avenue, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070.
