Vladimer M. Salva Jr's Obituary
Vladimer Michael Salva, Jr. died on May 26, 2026 after a long and courageous struggle with the debilitating impact of multiple strokes.
He was born on November 21, 1948 in Cleveland, Ohio the son of Vladimer and Concetta Corrado Salva and the younger brother of Nancy (Pazelt).
He graduated from St. Joseph’s High School in 1967 then went to college where he discovered “wine and women”. He enlisted in the Air Force, continuing his education at the various military bases where he was stationed and ultimately graduated from Kent State University after his honorable discharge from the service and return to the Cleveland area.
Vlad was a man filled with happiness who savored food, embraced travel and was willing to try most things (except hot air balloons) once, but his passions were family and music. His children and stepsons were all gifted musicians and he shared their concerts, band events and performances with enthusiasm. His own musical adventures included marching in the St. Patrick’s Day parade with the Malley’s Chocolates Marching Band, a once in a lifetime experience that gave him great pleasure.
Surviving to cherish Vlad’s memory are his partner, Pam DeFino, children Bradley (Carol), Spencer, Allegra (Bryan), Jeff and Pat (Mel) as well as six grandchildren, Anthony, Nicholas, Angelica, Mary, Adeline, Oliver and one great granddaughter, Hazel Noel. He is also survived by his uncle Joseph Corrado, nephews Tony and Scott Pazelt and their families and other loving relatives as well as many caring friends.
A Celebration of Vlad’s Life will take place on Thursday, June 25, 1:30 – 5 p.m. at Sunset Chapel 6245 Columbia Rd. North Olmsted, OH 44070.
Please join our family as we gather to share memories and tell stories of a man whose laughter, love and life impacted many people. His warmth, generosity, and vibrant personality touched all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be greatly missed.
Memorial donations in Vlad’s name can be directed to the American Stroke Association or the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
