W. William "Bill" Draves' Obituary
W. William “Bill” Draves, 82, of North Olmsted, passed away on June 10, 2026. He was born on September 11, 1943, to the late Leona and Wilson Draves.
Bill was the beloved husband of Judith Ann (nee Miller), with whom he shared a loving marriage since August 1, 1970. Together, they built a life centered on devotion to family, mutual respect, and countless cherished memories.
He was a proud and devoted father to Brian William Draves, Timothy Scott Draves (Erin), and Jonathan Jason Draves. Bill was also a loving grandfather to Scott Edward Draves, Rhys William Draves, Matthew Charlie Draves, Hannah Elizabeth Draves, Leah Evelyn Draves, and Norah James Draves, who brought him immense joy and pride.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Lawrence Draves (Joanne). He is survived by his brother, Ralph Draves (Georgean, deceased), and sister, Maura Sakach, along with many extended family members and dear friends.
He graduated from John Marshall High School and went on to attend Miami University of Ohio. He honorably served in the Army National Guard.
Bill enjoyed a successful and respected career in advertising and marketing, where he formed lasting relationships and earned the admiration of colleagues and clients alike. Outside of work, he was an avid sports enthusiast who remained a passionate supporter of Cleveland’s professional and collegiate teams throughout his life, rarely missing a chance to cheer them on.
He loved traveling and valued time spent with family—whether on vacations, during holidays, or in the simple moments gathered at home. One of his greatest joys was supporting his children and grandchildren, faithfully attending their activities, sporting events, and life milestones.
Above all else, Bill’s life was defined by his deep love for his family. His greatest happiness came from his role as a caring husband of 55 years, father, and grandfather. He took great pride in creating traditions, memories, and meaningful experiences that will be treasured for generations to come.
Bill will be remembered for his warmth, loyalty, and unwavering dedication to those he loved. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Visitation is Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 2-3:00 PM at Sunset Memorial’s Westwood Abbey Mausoleum, 6265 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, OH, with the funeral service following at 3:00 PM.
