Dear Bessie & family, Steve and I send our deepest thoughts and prayers for you in the passing of Walter. He was truly a special person and a good man. Although I think we only met him once at a gathering at Donna's in Brooklyn, I could see that Bessie's heart was full of love for him. Best of all, he fit right in with the rest of us old friends, like family. What a great sense of humility, humor and I dare say...honor. Bessie and Walter's love is one of a kind. I take joy in what they had and the life they built together. What a beautiful family and quite a legacy Walter leaves behind. I imagine that he has taken his place among the stars in our heavenly skies. May God bring you comfort as you gather and move through this period of mourning. Know that God is ever present with you. By the time my cousin Bessie and Walter met, I was on my own, no longer living at home. Funny how I saw and spoke to Walter more times, when I visit mom (Hilda) in the Bronx, than the few times I visited them in Ohio. (Walter was always working).
Walter was a God fearing man, a family man, super intelligent and respectful.
Our grandma Hortensia just loved Walter.
Rest in peace Walter.
